Look at this movie poster! It looks like a tasty little dessert, no? That’s Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, in a nutshell. This movie is so sweet! And like any snack, it will be delicious to some and cause a bit of a headache for others.
Fortunately for me, I was in the former group. I found myself delighted at this tale of an inexhaustibly kind British widow and cleaning lady who discovers that her dream in life is to own a Dior dress.
While the film weaves in some heavier topics such as aging, following your dreams, and even socialism (gasp), it keeps the stakes relatively low by letting us know early on that goodness always triumphs and Mrs. Harris always wins over those around her…eventually. And all of this optimism, kindness, and sweetness is set in lovely Paris, with lovely Parisian clothes, and lovely Parisian people.
That reminds me, can we please talk about Lucas Bravo?! Why did no one tell me?! Okay, maybe Emily in Paris and Ticket to Paradise did…but I’m going to demand that this man be in everything ever made from here on out. Because. DAMN.

Right, Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris. I recommend treating yourself and enjoying this scrumptious little snack! Oops, there I go talking about Lucas Bravo again…
